St Edward's Catholic Primary School

Term 4

We have been having a go at making words with magnetic letters and reading them.

We got to hold the chicks! 28.03.23.

We loved taking part in the Easter Bonnet Parade!

On Monday we received eggs which we are really enjoying watching them hatch and grow into chicks!

We have been listening to the Easter Story.

We have been adding 2 numbers together, counting how many and having a go at writing our own number sentences.

We have been learning about the Royal Family and past Kings/Queens. We have been learning about where they live, what they do and what they look like.

We took part in the KCSP Science Day. We created Nests, tested them and talked about what we might do differently next time.

In Maths we have been learning about greater than / less than amounts and number bonds to 10.

We have been reading the story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We innovated the story to change the fruits and have been writing sentences using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops!

We have had such a great day celebrating World Book Day! We had a parade in the hall to see everyone's costumes and in class we took part in a book quiz, naming all the different characters, we shared stories and answered questions/acted out being characters. We then got to join in with a Reading Picnic with other year groups.

For History we have started learning about Kings and Queens. We learnt that Queen Elizabeth II died and that we have a King called King Charles. We looked at pictures of castles and made castles using junk modelling.

We have been working out amounts that are greater than and less than another amount. We have been looking at number lines to help us too.

We got to go into the ICT suite today and had a go at logging on and going on to Purple Mash on our own! We were very excited to try the computers.

We have kick started Term 4 with lots of learning! We have been reading the story Dear Zoo, created a story road, changed animals and had a go at writing. We have been exploring how to subtract amounts in Maths.
