Term 4

SPELLINGS - This week, a big congratulations to Ivy, Hana, Sinead, Filip, Jude, Sophia, Daniel, Grace, Sahil, Kuba and Justin. A BIG shoutout to Frankie for improving with his spelling patterns.

SCIENCE WEEK - DAY 1 - Today, the children completed and investigation around the topic of 'reactions'. In pairs, the children were asked to measure their reaction time by partner A letting go of a ruler and partner B gripping it, mid flight. The children did especially well and recorded it in the chart. How could we challenge ourselves further?

HISTORY - In History, this week, the children look and discussed about the Terracotta army that is linked with the Shang Dynasty. This army was special in many different ways but especially, they are made up of sculptured. WOW! Please see some writing from a couple of children in Year 5.

RE - Mary untangles the knot - During RE this week, we discussed the meaning of causing a not inside someone and linking it to the loss of 'TRUST'. The children were able to answer a selection of questions on this topic!

It has been a fantastic first week back, of the new term, with so much already learnt by the class. We can't believe how quickly the first half of the year has flown by and we are ready to go!

 

Below, you'll find a list of topics that the children will be learning in Term 4 across the national curriculum.

Keep an eye on the Year 5 class pages, through the academic term, for up-to-date pictures and work from a range of different subjects.
