Term 1
w/c 18.10.21 -- In Maths, we have been focussing on the 3 and 4 times tables. We did a fun game outside to learn them. In English, we have been focussing on SPAG and practicing our dictionary skills. In Science, we finished our topic of plants by showing our knowledge and making a plant ourselves. In art, we were mixing colours. In RE, we finished off our topic of The Christian Family by learning about the baptismal promises and expressing why it is so important to keep our promises to show trust to Jesus. We finished off our successful term one with a party. Have a lovely half term.
w/c 11.10.21 -- This week was St Edwards Feast Day. We made crowns and wrote a prayer on a ring to him. In Maths, we have been learning about arrays with multiplication and division facts. We have also been looking at our number bonds to 10 and made a Number Bond Rainbow. In English, we finished our non-chronological reports about our animals. In Science. we were looking at seed dispersal. In RE, we looked at the signs and symbols of Baptism.
w/c 4.10.21 -- Have a look at our amazing English Display based on our terms book 'Here we are' by Oliver Jeffers. They are our letters to Sporkle the Alien. In Maths, we have been subtracting amounts. In Geography this week, we were learning about Hills and Mountains in the United Kingdom. In RE, we have been learning about the Sacrament of Baptism and why it is important to us. In Science, we were learning about plant life cycles and why bee's are so important. Unfortunately, we didn't find many bees as it's getting colder but we did find lots of seeds!
w/c 27.9.21 - English we have started to discuss the features on non-chronological reports in order to start writing our own. In Maths, we have been looking at addition and subtraction. In Science, we looked at how temperature affects plants growth. In RE, we have been looking at Joining the Christian Family and what values we must have in order to carry on living as Jesus did. We served our friends with Acts of Kindness.
