Internet Safety Day - we shared a story about Hanni and The Magic Window, shared ideas of what we would do if we saw something we didn't like on the internet, played a 'what would you say or do game' with different online scenarios and shared what we like to do on the internet at home. We know we must stay safe and that we should always tell a trusted grown up.
We had a special visit from the athlete, Darran Challis. We had fun joining in with a fitness circuit.
We have been learning about animals - baby animals and their mothers. We shared the story Monkey Puzzle and looked at the life cycles of a butterfly and a frog.
We took part in NSPCC Number Day. We dressed up with something linked to numbers, wrote numbers, played bingo and completed 20 practical Maths questions in just over 3 minutes!
We have been reading traditional tales. We read the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears and created a whole class story road.
We have been learning about the Arctic and Antarctica. We made snowflakes - using paper to cut them and then using salt and glue.
We have been using materials to weave.
We have been focusing on size in Maths, using words: big, bigger, medium, small, smaller, little.
We had fun one afternoon going to see other teachers for a Reading Roundabout afternoon.
We have had lots of fun in other areas of learning including, making gingerbread men, learning about the Arctic and Antarctica and weaving with materials.
In Maths we have been adding two amounts together, adding one more to a number and thinking of ways to solve the problem of 'how do we get the gingerbread man across the river?'
We started this term with reading The Gingerbread Man. We created a whole class story map and used actions to help us retell the story before drawing our own story maps.
