St Edward's Catholic Primary School

Term 6

We had a fantastic visit to Peel Ports.

Y5 had a great time on the Bouncy Castles.

Several of the Year 5 pupils completed their Learn to Ride in the Sun.

Year 5 enjoyed a day of Play Leader training ready for when they move into Year 6.  The children were taught lots of different games that they can play with the younger children in school during lunch times.  This helps the children learn team skills and leadership skills, very good qualities to have.

Y5 enjoyed the Online Safety Workshop.

Year 5 had a fantastic day at the KCSP Children's Conference.  The children were introduced to several authors and illustrators, including Zohab Zee Khan and Michael Rosen.  Zohab is a very entertaining digeredoo playing, performance poet.  He inspired the children to create their own poems - please ask your child about 'chicken nuggets'!

Chante Timothy is an award winning illustrator who taught the children how to draw a superhero, Year 5 are a talented class and did very well.

I'm sure you all know Michael Rosen of ' We're going on a Bear Hunt' fame.  He had everybody in fits of laughter with his stories and poems.  The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting him.

It was wonderful to see one of our pupils win a prize for a poem he wrote for the conference too.  He received his prize from Michael Rosen.  Well done Gibrill, we're all very proud of you.
