Year 1 have been learning about animals. They learnt the 5 classifications of vertebrates: mammals, amphibians, reptiles, birds and fish, identifying and classifying them. Lastly, they looked at models of animal poo to help them decide if the animals were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores and why.
Year 1 have been learning about everyday materials. They've used their classification skills as well as understanding and exploring the properties of materials. Year 1 were then able to create and complete an investigation to find out the properties of paper.
Year 1 have also not forgotten their Weather Detective investigation! They have remembered to go back and check their rain gauge, wind gauge and thermometer regularly throughout term 2.
Year 1 have been investigating the weather. So far, they've looked for signs of the weather as well as investigating the wind and the rain. Year 1 have also had fun finding out about seasonal changes.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
