We celebrated the Resurrection of the Lord this term in RE and used our drawing skills to sketch empty tomb scenes.
We learned about Thomas doubting Jesus and thought about things we believe even though we cannot see them.
We gave new life to rubbish by recycling wrappers to make crosses. We recalled The Ascension using modesl we made from paper cups.
Our book this term was The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. We wrote narratives inspired by the text and used innovation to make the narratives our own. We enjoyed listening to more stories by Eric Carle.
We have been working hard on multiplication of counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. We have used lots of manipulatives to support making equal groups through sharing and grouping.
We loved this term's topic - Plants! We spent lots of our Science lessons outside identifying plants in our school environment and sketching examples.
We learned about parts of a plant, what plants need to grow and deciduous and evergreen trees.
We learned how to refine our drawing skills this term and learnt techniques including shading, hatching and cross hatching. We got messy with pastels when using these skills to draw portraits.
This term, we have been comparing Sheerness and Uluru. We recapped landmarks of Sheerness and learned about the infrastructure in Uluru so we could compare.
We learned about why humans live near the sea when Peel Ports visited. We dressed up in PPE and used special equipment to unload lorries.
In PE, we have enjoyed applying our physical skills when using different sized balls. We learned how to send and receive balls by rolling, using a single bounce and double bounce. We have definitely improved our catching skills!
We have learned about the difference between e-books and classic books as we wrote and illustrated our own stories online using Purple Mash. Log in at home to view and read our animated stories.
We have continued to learn that we were created to love others. We reflected on treating others well and saying sorry when we have done something wrong.
We learned the difference about secrets; good secrets like a birthday surprise and bad secrets which may make us feel negative emotions.
Finally, we learned the pants rule from the NSPCC and decorated pants!
Our theme this term was Superheroes as we learned about pitch.
We identified high and low notes and composed and performed superhero them tunes using percussion instruments.
We finished the term off with Bikeability. We had so much fun learning to ride pedal bikes and even go to race our friends on bikes!
