St Edward's Catholic Primary School

Term 3

Welcome back to a brand new term. We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break.

This term the children will be, once again, working extremely hard but also having fun with their learning at the same time.

This term's English will focus on the children creating two pieces of writing: a suspense narrative and a poem. Maths will focus on ratio and proportion before moving on to algebra and then decimals. Our Science unit is Evolution and Inheritance during which we will look at Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution. Our textiles based Art lessons will have a sewing focus. We will be learning a number of different sewing stiches before creating a wonderful cushion as our final piece. Geography will be centred around Greece: location, import/export, trade and human and physical features. This term RE is Exploring the Mass. The children will learn about all the different parts of Mass. Finally, PE will be gymnastics with a 'cognitive' focus.
