St Edward's Catholic Primary School

Term 6

Week 4

This week, Year 1 had the opportunity to visit the Criterion in Bluetown! We learned lots about our local community and the different pieces of history behind it. We became spies for the day, looking for different clues and historical artefacts, learning about them as we went.

Week 3

This week, Year 1 have started to do some modelling in DT, taking inspiration from Auguste Rodin. In English, we have continued our work on descriptive writing, and have gotten really creative with it! We have also carried on working on preparations for Enterprise and the Jubilee celebrations!

Week 2

This week, Year 1 have started to write descriptively using picture prompts in English. In Maths, we have looked at different number bonds and how they can help us. In RE, we have started to look at the topic of miracles, with particular focus on when Jesus calmed the storm. We have also started to prepare for the different events coming up later this term.

Week 1

Wow - we have reached the final term of the year! Year 1 have continued to work hard, with a particular focus on learning all of our phonics sounds for the screening. In English, we have been writing descriptively about our half term. In Maths, we have been working on numbers up to 100, being able to write them correctly, and count on or back from any number. On Tuesday, we even had the opportunity to do some Irish dancing - what a great start to the term!
